You can note up a case on CanLII either from within the statute itself or from the homepage. Queen's students and researchers can watch the Law Library's video tutorial:<\/p>\n\n

From within the statute:<\/p>\n\n
1. Click on the \"Cited By\" button. <\/li>\n\t
2. Click on \"Search for all citing documents\" on your results list.<\/li>\n\t
3. You will now be able to add a section number in the \"Any section\" box. <\/li>\n\t
4. Select the \"Cases\" tab on your results page to bring up a list of cases considering this section of the act.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n
  From the homepage:<\/p>\n\n
  1. Use the third search box (labelled \"Noteup\") to enter the name or citation of the act.<\/li>\n\t
  2. Add the section number in the \"Any section\" box.<\/li>\n\t
  3.     The fastest way to note up a statute in Lexis is to pull up the statute you need and navigate to the section of interest. From there, you can find cases that consider it using QuickCITE. <\/p>\n\n
    From the Lexis homepage:<\/p>\n\n
    1. In the \"Explore Content\" box, click on \"Legislation\".<\/li>\n\t
    2. Browse to your statute by selecting the right jurisdiction.<\/li>\n\t
    3. Navigate to the section you are interested in.<\/li>\n\t
    4. From the desired section, click on \"Citing Cases\" on the right menu to display cases that have cited your section.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n

      Westlaw's online citator is called KeyCite and can be found by pulling up the statute you need and navigating to the section of interest. From there, you can find cases that consider the section.<\/p>\n\n
      Westlaw provides two types of citing case lists: <\/p>\n\n
      \n\t
      Judicial Consideration<\/strong>: A curated list of cases that Westlaw editors have determined \"meaningfully interpret\" the section. <\/li>\n\t
      Citing Cases: <\/strong>A more expansive list of citing cases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
      Both are available from the view inside the legislative provision. From the Westlaw homepage:<\/p>\n\n
      \n\t
      Click on \"Statutes and Regulations\".<\/li>\n\t
      Navigate to your legislation by selecting the right jurisdiction and type of legislation.<\/li>\n\t
      Select the section you are interested in from the table of contents.<\/li>\n\t
      Once you are viewing the section, you can click into both the \"Judicial Consideration\" and \"Citing References\" tabs. For Citing References, make sure you then select \"Cases and Decisions\" to narrow the list to citing cases. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n
