The coure textbook is a critical resource for this course. The textbook is used to supplement the content in most weeks of the course. It is also a manditory resource for most of the major assignments in the course (ie. Autobiogrpahy, Leader Profile, Textbook Worksheets). You can order the hard copy of the text through the Georgian Bookstore<\/a><\/strong>. This will be applied from the beginning of the course. Blackboard will automatically remove the lowest two Weekly Assessment marks as we move through the course when calculating your mark (Weighted Total). APA referenceing is critical for all assignments\/weekly assessments in the course. This includes proper APA in-text citations and references. On larger assignments, you will also be asked to format your assignment according to APA guidelines.<\/p>\n\n

Unfortunately, no. <\/strong>This course is meant to be run in line with your peers. Additionally, I do make some changes to upcoming weeks of the course even after the course has started.<\/p>\n\n
That said, I recognize that some may want to work ahead when their workload allows. As such, I typically open Weekly Learning folders for 1-2 Weeks ahead of the rest of the class to accommodate that.<\/p>\n\n
Additionally, you are welcome to work ahead on assignments like the Autobiography, Leader Profile, and Textbook Worksheets (pay close attention to assignment instructions).<\/p>\n\n

This course has a few options built in if you are particularly busy (remember, do your best to plan ahead). For Weekly Assessments, I am only taking the Best 8 of 10. If you feel you have too much on your plate, you are welcome to skip one and it will be dropped from consideration toward your final mark. Just make sure you do not miss more than two and still review that week's content. You can also email me about an extension, especially for larger assignments.<\/p>\n\n

The Weekly Assessments support your learning by offering you a chance to engage with your peers, reflect on the content as it relates to your life, and check your understanding of the content. They also give me a chance to check your understanding as well. Needless to say, they are important!<\/p>\n\n
That said, if you are overwhelmed you do have some flexibility as I am taking the Best 8 of 10 Weekly Assessments toward your final mark. What is Turnitin?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n
Turnitin is a tool we will be using in the course to promote Academic Integrity<\/strong>. The software scans submitted assignments and flags content that has been plagiarized or improperly paraphrased. Turnitin also keeps submitted assignments on file so they cannot be submitted to courses in the future for academic credit.<\/p>\n\n
NEVER TAKE OR GIVE YOUR COMPLETED ASSIGNMENTS TO ANOTHER STUDENT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! <\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Turnitin submission links are all located in the Assignments section<\/strong>, directly below the Assignment information. If you have any issues submitting to Turnitin, more often than not, it is related to your Internet Browser. Try using a different browser (Internet Explorer, Edge, Chrome, Mozilla).
