        To better understand the types of academic misconduct and the penalties associated with committing any of them, consult Section 8 of Georgian College\u2019s Academic Regulations.<\/a><\/p>\n\n
        Have you completed the Academic Integrity Module (AIM)<\/strong> in Blackboard? After you registered at Georgian College, you were automatically enrolled in it. You can find the AIM course in Blackboard under My Courses. If you have already completed it, you may want to go back and revisit it to get a refresher on academic integrity, plagiarism and cheating. There is more information about the Academic Integrity Module on your Student Portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n
        For help with writing, paraphrasing, and academic honesty, you can connect with the Language Help Centre<\/a>. They will answer any questions that you might have related to grammar, language, paraphrasing, presentations, etc. and will help you go over your assignment instructions, and will provide suggestions on your work. The Centre provides support in three different formats: email support, online virtual support through WebEx appointments, and in person drop ins. <\/p>\n\n

        1. Your first point of contact should be the faculty member or instructor of the course<\/strong> you are in. Connect with them immediately and ask to set up a meeting where you can discuss your assignment and get a better understanding of why you received the grade that you did. Your faculty is always there to support you. They will be able to discuss their decision with you and provide any additional feedback or options that are available. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n
        2. If a resolution is not reached with the faculty member, you may then wish to contact your program coordinator<\/strong> or your student success advisor to further discuss the situation with them. If you do not know who your program coordinator is or how to reach them, your student advisor can connect you with them. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Lastly, if after going through the above steps you have still not found a resolution and wish to formally appeal the grade that you received, you may do so by completing the Academic Appeal Form (AAF). You must begin the appeal process within 5 working days of receiving your grade back from your instructor<\/strong> for your appeal to be considered. The AAF outlines the formal process that will occur once an appeal is submitted. You can find more information about the appeal process, as well as what types of assessments and work you can appeal, in Section 9 of Georgian College\u2019s Academic Regulations.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n
