I'm an introvert; going to college the first day was nerve-wracking, mainly because there was no clear information\/instructions on where the freshers were supposed to report. Being suddenly surrounded by at least a thousand students was somewhat stressful for an introvert, which also filled me with extreme anxiety. Being an introvert does not mean that I lack any social skills or it's difficult for me to socialize, but socializing more than I am already comfortable with is exhausting. Then some time passed, and we all graduated, and I decided to pursue business analytics at a Canadian college. This career development got followed by thoughts that the classes will be in Canada, but little did I know about the pandemic that was about to follow. Finally, I was forced to start my lessons online, which was a completely new thing. Due to different time zones, I studied offline by watching the recorded lectures, and this felt like a better choice since, for me, live daytime classes in Canada were equivalent to late-night cram sessions for an exam. So, I chose to study through recorded lectures, and because of this, I was always behind my class; due to a delay of ten and half hours. You can also add delay due to the lecture being uploaded a day late or so. Things began to become intensely stressful, and I always panicked from the deadline because I used to have less time and late information on something from the lecture. My whole day would be spent watching at least 4 hours worth of lessons and completing the next deadline, which left me with no time to concentrate on other essential aspects of life. The first semester went by like this, and I sometimes had to stay awake for more than 24 hours straight due to deadlines. Then in the second semester, I decided to attend classes not to worry about being behind the course. This was followed by 6 kg weight loss because I would stay awake the whole night till morning to attend all the live lectures and sleep in the daytime. Because of this, I was missing out on both my breakfast and lunch; all I could have was snacks and dinner, which weren't enough. This started to become especially harmful in the long run. Along with this, studying online does become dull at some point in time, and it just gets difficult to follow this routine. Learning face to face is an experience that is very important for self-growth; everyone requires an environment to grow.<\/p>\n"},"library":"H5P.AdvancedText 1.1","metadata":{"contentType":"Text","license":"U","title":"Untitled Text"},"subContentId":"51d214b8-f83e-4116-9277-125acb99a242"},"title":"The Wicked Problem"},{"content":{"params":{"text":"

The way things were going, when I started to attend the live lectures, though I did lift a lot of stress from me but left me with a weak body. So, how did I fix this? I found a balance; I did only those lectures that weren't late for me, i.e., I started to leave the highly late-night studies and follow them up during the weekends. This gave me ample time to complete all my work and not lag behind the class. I even got time to work on other things like my hobbies etc. Because of this, my health got restored to normal, and I felt refreshed whenever I started a new task to work on, which otherwise had me working at an inefficient speed. If you are going through the same problem, then the best course of choice is to identify how you can balance your academics and life. Losing health for either work or academics is not worth it and will hit you in the long run. I found a balance that worked for me; you will have to decide for yourself to manage your work by diving into them and to follow up with them without procrastinating. Things may have difficulty due to the ongoing pandemic, but it is only a matter of time before we emerge victorious before this virus.
