In real life, it is not enough to simply understand the words that are spoken when you listen to someone. You must also understand their true meaning. Specifically, being able to distinguish between facts, opinions, assumptions and biases when you listen can make a big difference to your understanding and will also help you to be able to think critically about what you hear.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Write a brief opening paragraph to identify the title of the TedTalk and the name of the speaker. In 2-3 sentences, outline the gist of the video (i.e. identify what the talk was about but do not summarize the whole talk).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n\t
Then, use either a chart or a mind map to provide the information below. Be sure to support your arguments with specific examples, quotes, or statistics from the sources.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n
