A branching scenario to explore how the ways we think about and respond to behaviours can impact the children in our care.

There are numerous decisions to make about the actions you might take in this interactive case study about a child named J.C. who is experiencing some trouble transitioning out of his quiet free-play time when the other children are napping and into afternoon snack time.

This branching scenario is part of a larger project creating Digital Learning Objects. The purpose of the DLOs are to provide pre-service ECEs with the opportunity to engage with interactive resources to help support the development of their professional skills. For example, noticing, observation, responding, planning, reflection, and health and safety, as well as issues related to equity, diversity, and inclusion in early childhood contexts.

Note that students would not be expected to identify everything nor respond perfectly right away - this is a learning tool and intended to be used and reviewed multiple times, improving with each use. For best image quality and readability, use full-screen mode.
