Uploading Documents to a Leganto List<\/span><\/h2>\n\n
Most of the time you link <\/em>to documents on Leganto lists. This allows students to access licensed library materials and ensures only <\/em>authenticated Trent users can access them. <\/p>\n\n
However, there are times when linking isn't a viable option. In these cases, you can upload a file for the item.<\/p>\n\n

The Library does not encourage<\/strong> uploading documents for readings that are readily available online<\/strong> via the Library, even <\/em>if they meet Fair Dealing guidelines. <\/p>\n\n
Accessing readings via the Library is beneficial for:<\/p>\n\n

familiarizing students with the structure of academic publications (journal volumes & issues, book tables of contents, etc.),<\/li>\n\t
encouraging discovery of related resources, and<\/li>\n\t

Citations with files attached require an extra step in processing, which will slow down availability.
