This video is about preparing your elevator speech. It\u2019s a good idea to prepare the main points of your elevator speech in advance. This way, you will have all the important information you want to say ready. Let\u2019s look at what you can include in your elevator speech.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n
First, an introduction: introduce yourself. Give your name and include a friendly comment. For example, \u201cHi, I\u2019m Sara. It\u2019s so nice to meet you\u201d. Or, \u201cLet me introduce myself. I\u2019m Victor.\u201d Or, \u201cHello, I\u2019m Anwar. Thanks for meeting with me today\u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n
Then, give a short summary of your background: include key information like your education, skills, work experience or strengths and achievements. Write down the things you want to say, and then reduce them to only the most relevant information. What you say will depend on who you\u2019re talking to. If you\u2019re talking to a prospective employer, you may include technical skills or job accomplishments. But in a social situation, you probably won't include specific details. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n
State your goal: say what your employment plans are and what you intend to do. For example, I'm looking for a job as a cook in a hotel restaurant. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n
And, finally, make a request. Be polite, and ask for what you want to happen next. It can be asking for a meeting, asking for information about a position, or asking to give feedback on your resume.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n
Make sure your speech flows and sounds natural. And be brief \u2013 use only about 80 words!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n
Finally, end your conversation politely. Thank the person for their time.
