ASIP-PMIntro-4 History of Project Management Timeline

Description

Although formal project management is a recent concept, ever since the first projects started, there has been some form of project management. There are examples of projects dating back to early human history, including large construction projects.

More recently, tools have been developed to make managing projects more efficient. Today, as more attention is placed on project management as a framework and profession, we benefit from standards, tools, and learning communities that help us to increase our knowledge of project management.

Scenario: Let's explore some examples of historical events in project management: Pyramids of Giza; Gantt Chart; Project Management Institute Certification; The Rise of the Project Management Professional.
