Change can occur over infinite scales of time. It can be instant, or transpire over a long period.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n\t
Change is invariably systemic. - Learning can not be prevented. All individuals learn from their experiences.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n\t

- Learning is not relegated to any one environment or context.   Sometimes, human's resist learning (and the change it implies). They may even find it painful or uncomfortable. We can be reluctant to engage in learning that requires us to think a new way, put forth great effort, or acknowledge our misconceptions. We may be afraid of failure, or intimidated by our potential for success, depending on what it implies.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n\t

  We often conceptualize learning as a positive thing, but learning does not always result in changes that are favorable for individuals or groups.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n\t
  We can not limit our learning only to what is valued, accepted, and comfortable.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n\t
  Sometimes, we can learn things that have some negative consequences for us (ie: A person who learns their manners and to always be polite, may as a consequence of this learning perceive asking questions, standing up for themselves, or pursuing their interests to be improper).<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n\t
