Sepsis - Overview Module and Case Study
Description
Audience: This module is intended for year one and two nursing students with an early understanding of anatomy, physiology, health assessment, and nursing therapeutics. It may be used to support and/or supplement clinical practice hours.
Format & Time: This module is comprised of a variety of open educational resources such as videos, text, and images, followed by multiple choice and fill-in-the-blank questions to allow you to evaluate your comprehension. It will take approximately 60-90 minutes to complete.
Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this module, the learner will have the opportunity to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of sepsis, early warning signs, and approach to treatment
- Apply this knowledge to a relevant nursing case study, communicating pertinent information to the most responsible physician using the ISBAR communication tool
