Purpose: To develop social skills and reinforce a sense of \u201cwho am I\u201d which is a prerequisite for communication and social interaction (Pagliano, 2012). This prototype differs from the others in that it aims to foster an environment of social interaction with groups of people (Pagliano, 2012). Anything from the colours that are used in the space to the type of equipment that is available will help this prototype to encourage socialization. Purpose: To either provide and enhance auditory stimulation (sharp space) or to reduce and mask auditory stimulation (dull space). Practitioners can use a variety of tools to achieve and transform their MSE to meet individualized auditory needs. One can maximize listening engagement by installing wooden floors, ceiling and walls. Alternatively, a practitioner can minimize the effects of auditory input within an environment by using sound absorption tools such as fabric-covered panels or carpets (Pagliano, 2012). One really unique way of experiencing sound is through sound therapy called vibroacoustic. With vibroacoustic technology the musical vibrations are magnified while the sound of the music is minimized. This has a variety of positive impacts on one\u2019s brain and body. Purpose: To stimulate the sense of smell & encourage reflection. It is important to note that this is the most challenging prototype to design as one\u2019s sense of smell can be convoluted with conscious and subconscious psychological meaning over time (Pagliano, 2012). One of the largest challenges for practitioners is \u201chow to design the olfactory sense experience so it can be: controlled by the participant and only be made available when the participant wishes to partake in the experience, provided in ways where the odor is presented for an extremely brief duration but to be extended as required, and delivered in an extremely mild intensity and then increased as necessary\u201d (Pagliano, 2012, p ).
