Job interviews can take many forms, but they are the number one way that employers screen and select candidates for positions. You could be competing with several other people, so it is important to know what to expect, and how to present yourself in the best possible way.<\/p>\n\n

This presentation task will allow you to practice responding in a typical interview situation. It will also help you meet the following course requirements:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

  You will meet individually with your teacher for a face-to-face interview. Your interview will be approximately 15 minutes long, and your teacher will match your question list to the type of job application you chose while completing the Job Application Assignment and\/or to your previous professional experience. <\/p>\n\n
  You will be asked six (6)<\/strong> questions:<\/p>\n\n
  \n\t
  5 questions,<\/strong> selected from the list of most common interview questions\n\n\t
  \n\t\t
  2 basic<\/strong> interview questions<\/li>\n\t\t
  3 behavioural<\/strong> interview questions\n\t\t
  \n\t\t\t
  Behavioural questions must be answered using the STAR method (as discussed in class).<\/li>\n\t\t<\/ul>\n\t\t<\/li>\n\t<\/ul>\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
  A Word document listing these questions is posted in the Week 6 folder (Weekly Learning) and in the folder for this presentation (Assignments and Presentations).<\/p>\n\n

  1 situational<\/strong> question.\n\n\t
  \n\t\t
  This will be a \u201cWhat would you do?\u201d type of question based on a workplace scenario.<\/li>\n\t<\/ul>\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
  Approach this as if it were a real job interview with a potential employer.   Interviews will be by appointment. You must sign up for your interview time using the Interview Appointments<\/span> <\/span><\/em>link<\/span> on Backboard. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n
