Blackboard is Georgian College\u2019s online Learning Management System. It can be used to communicate with students, post links to important information, post course content such as lecture materials, and facilitate student collaboration by means of blogs, discussion boards and wikis. There is also a grade center in which marks can be entered and made visible to students at any point in the semester. A WebEx<\/a> meeting is an online meeting that allows you to virtually meet with other people, without leaving your home or office.<\/p>\n\n

WebEx meetings require a computer with Internet access and a separate phone line. By logging into the meeting via the Internet, you will be able to see the presenter\u2019s computer screen. You can also use the conference phone number which will enable you to hear the presenter and other participants through your phone.<\/p>\n\n

Office365 Education is a collection of services that allows you to collaborate and share your schoolwork. It\u2019s available for free to teachers who are currently working at an academic institution and to students who are currently attending an academic institution. The service includes Office Online (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, OneDrive, Sway), and SharePoint sites for collaboration.<\/p>\n\n

Word online:<\/a><\/em> On your PC, Mac, or mobile device, you can create documents from scratch, or a template, add text, images, art, and videos, research a topic and find credible sources, save to OneDrive to get to your documents from your computer, tablet, or phone, share your documents, and work with others, and track and review changes.<\/p>\n\n

Flipgrid<\/a> is a website that allows teachers to create \u201cgrids\u201d to facilitate video discussions. Each grid is like a message board where teachers can pose questions, called \u201ctopics,\u201d and their students can post video responses that appear in a tiled grid display. Grids can be shared with classes, small groups, or any collection of users interested in a common strand of questions.<\/p>\n\n

Students can respond via the Flipgrid app or website with any camera-enabled device or by uploading a previously recorded video. Responses can be 15 seconds to five minutes, and a maximum recording time can be set. Teachers can also allow students to record replies to classmates\u2019 responses. <\/p>\n\n

Turnitin is an originality checking and plagiarism prevention service that checks assignment submissions for citation mistakes or plagiarism. When a student submits a paper, Turnitin compares it with other text in its massive database of student work, websites, books, articles, etc. <\/p>\n\n

OneDrive is Microsoft's storage service for hosting files in the cloud. OneDrive offers a simple way to <\/strong>store, sync, and share your files. You can also choose to use OneDrive to get links that you can share on any medium online by pasting them. Writing in the margins has always been an essential activity for students. Annotation helps in reading comprehension and in developing critical thinking about course materials.
