Being able to assess the legitimacy of information that you are exposed to is an important skill in understanding the world and making informed decisions about your response to this information. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n

  Look for headlines that are exaggerated, vague or that are likely to create a strong emotional reaction.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n\t
  Look for the use of capitals, strong punctuation (!!, !?, etc.).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n\t
  Websites that are clearly from recognized colleges, universities, health centres, or that include extensions such as .gov, .org, .edu, .ed, .ca, .uk, etc. are probably legitimate and reliable websites. Do not use these.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n\t
