Palliative Care in Acute Setting

This online module aims to improve the nurse's knowledge and awareness of palliative care in an acute setting to bridge the nursing knowledge and practice gap. The goal is to increase nurses' knowledge and skills, increase comfort and confidence when providing palliative care, and improve communication skills regarding end-of-life care discussion with patients and their loved ones.

Palliative care education alone is not enough to improve palliative care in an acute setting; however, it will be a first step to provide an opportunity for education, increase awareness about different care options, change the nurse's attitude, and promote a nursing culture embracing palliative care.
